Meet our Bovines

Bunny

Bunny is our miniature Hereford cow who came to us from a local breeder.  She was born April 3, 2023. As a calf, we were able to bottle feed her for the few weeks after she came to us which made her very people friendly and loves to be touched.  She has a very gentle demeaner and seems to love being around people even more than other animals!

Olaf

Olaf is our cute little miniature Zebu.  Zebu’s are gentle cows who have big eyes, floppy ears, a humb on their upper back and are indigenous to India.  Olaf was born June 2023 and came to us from a breeder in Winlock, Washington.  He has bonded with Bunny and seems to think she is now his momma!  He is a sweet and gentle little cow and loves kisses on his face and nose!

Meet our Equines

A picture of Freckles, our miniature horse

Freckles

Freckles is a miniature pinto horse with dwarfism who came to us from Helping Our Mini Equines (HOPE) rescue in Arlington, WA. He is a bonded pair with Roper.  It is estimated that he was born between 1998 and 2001.  Much of his history is unknown except that he, Roper, and two other mini horses were owned by an elderly woman who could no longer care for them.  She released them to Thunder Mountain Farms Equine Rescue and then they were transferred to HOPE.  While at HOPE, he was used as a therapy horse at Assisted Living Centers.  He is the sweetest little boy!  His small size, calm demeaner and love for being touched makes him a perfect therapy horse.

Roper

(Not for therapy)

Roper is a miniature horse who came to us as a buddy to Freckles from Helping Our Mini Equines rescue in Arlington, WA.  It is estimated that he was born between 2012 and 2015.  Much of Roper’s history is unknown to us except that he, Freckles, and two other mini horses were owned by an elderly woman who could no longer care for them.  She released them to Thunder Mountain Farms Equine Rescue and then were transferred to HOPE.   Roper came to HOPE with a fear and distrust of humans and they worked with him to gain his trust.  We continue to work with him and he is now able to be lead with a halter, gives us nose snuggles and has become a true “pasture puppy”. Roper has come a long way in accepting us as his people, but we have far to go to make him feel confident that he will always be loved, cared for and never be hurt.  He will not be used as a therapy horse.  Please allow him his personal space and don’t approach him; let him approach you.

A picture of Pancake, our excitable donkey, with his ears slicked back

Pancake

Pancake is a miniature donkey who came to us from Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue.  It is estimated that he was born between 1996 and 2000.  His history is unknown to us accept we were told that he likely came from the desert in Mexico.  Pancake is a true “pasture puppy” who will follow you around hoping to get pets and snuggles.  He is a gentle and loving little sweetheart and loves attention, to be brushed and touched.

A picture of our large, lovable donkey, Tina

Tina

(Not for therapy at this time)

Tina is a miniature donkey who is the buddy to Pancake.  Tina came to us from Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue.  It is estimated that she is a bit younger than Pancake and was born between 1999 and 2003.  Her history is unknown.  Tina is a gentle little lady and loves to be brushed and scratched under the chin and behind her ears. She can be a bit moody and independent at times so we will hold off having her be a therapy donkey until we get to know her a little better.  We do believe she will be a wonderful donkey for therapy in the future but we want to get to know her a little better to understand her patience level.

Meet our Capra Hircus (Goats)

A photo of Bobby, our Pigmy Goat, chowing down!

Bobby

Bobby is an American Pigmy goat who we rescued when he was found to be neglected and malnourished.  We estimate that he was born in 2022.  He is now a healthy and happy little guy who absolutely love people, hugs and snuggles.  We believe he doesn’t realize he’s a goat and actually thinks he is a puppy!  Bobby will be an amazing therapy goat because of his gentle and sweet disposition and love of petting and snuggles.

Our goat, Ricky finding some good grub

Ricky

Ricky is a Nigerian goat who was donated to us from Heather and Matt Ellerding as a companion to Bobby.  He was born in 2019.  We decided to name these boys Ricky and Bobby in honor of the great Will Farrell in Talladega Nights!  Ricky and Bobby took to each other immediately and are now best friends.  Ricky loves attention by humans and is a very loving and sweet boy and will also be an amazing therapy goat.  We are so grateful to the Ellerdings for donating him to our farm!

Meet the Ovis Aries (Sheep)

our sheep, Betty

Betty

Betty is the twin sister to Pebbles and they were born March 2025. The girls are Babydoll Southdown sheep.  They are the original breed from England and known for being small, gentle and have a cute smile and sweet little face.  Betty was named after Randy’s late momma who absolutely loved animals.  Betty is the dominate sister and where Betty is, you will also find Pebbles.  Both girls are a bit shy right now and we are working to socialize them with humans.  We hope to have them ready to meet little people soon!

Pebbles

Pebbles is the smaller of the twin sisters and super sweet!  We named her after Pebbles from the Flintstones which was Randy and Michele’s favorite cartoon growing up!  She lets her sister take the lead and tends to shadow her every move.  She is going to be an adorable addition to Mickie’s Mini Farm and we are so excited to have her meet and greet our young visitors in the near future.

Meet our Canines

A picture of our farm dog, Hank, a black labradoodle.

Hank

(Not for therapy)

Hank is our Labradoodle who was born in November 15, 2016.  He has the calmest disposition of all of our canines.  His sweet and quiet personality makes you want to just love on him all the time!  He was Randy’s companion before Michele came along and his daddy is by far his favorite human!  Hank won’t be used for animal assisted therapy, but you will likely see him trotting behind Randy around the farm.

Image of our farm pup, Hank, a Bernese Mountain Dog

Navy

Navy is our Bernese Mountain Dog who was born in December 13, 2018.  Navy was Michele’s companion before Randy came along and we all became a blended dog family!  Weighing in at 110 lbs he is our giant, happy goof-ball!  You definitely will know when Navy is around because he greets everyone with a pounce and a smile.  When he runs to you it appears he is “paddling” and his “love language” is definitely pets and hugs!

A picture of Tulip, our lovable Basset Hound

Tulip

Tulip is our Bassett Hound who was born in October 30, 2020.  She is the true “farm dog” of the pack.  She spends her days either hanging out with the other species of animals we have or sitting on the porch admiring the view.  She absolutely loves belly rubs so don’t be surprised when she greets you by immediately flipping on her back to expose that soft little belly!

Meet Our Felines

Professor and Ginger

(Not for therapy)

Professor and Ginger (in honor of Gilligan’s Island) are a brother/sister pair of cats who we discovered as kittens with their mother in a shed on our neighbor’s property in 2022.  They could be considered barn cats or porch kitties, depending on where they choose to lounge.  You will see them either hanging out with the horses and donkeys, hunting for mice around the farm, or more often napping in their bed on the porch or on a hay bale in the barn.  Ginger is the friendliest of the two and professor is more independent.  Neither will be therapy animals, but will live their lives happily hanging out with the rest of our crew!

Meet our Humans

A photo of the owners, Michelle and Randy, and some of our farm animals

Randy and Michele Copeland

Randy is the CMO (Chief Maintenance Officer) and Michele, CAO (Chief Animal Officer) met while walking their dogs, Hank and Navy.  They soon discovered their mutual love for kids and animals.  Friendship turned to love, and love became a marriage in 2022.  Randy is a Pediatrician who is originally from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He has two adult sons and has lived in the Pacific Northwest for the past 29+ years.  Other than working around the farm, he enjoys a love/hate relationship with his classic cars, fly fishing and off-roading.  Michele is a Pacific Northwest native and a local mortgage lender.  She has twin adult daughters and a wonderful son in law who gave us our first granddaughter, Mila , and a grandson is expected in May.  She loves hanging out with all of her “fur babies” on the farm, buying things she doesn’t need on Facebook Marketplace, and gardening.
